AP courses and AP exams are two completely different concepts.Please note that high school AP course grades (with a maximum score of 100) only count toward your school GPA, as the exam papers are created by the school's own teachers.In contrast, it is the scores from the global standardized AP exams held every May (with a maximum score of 5) that can actually be used to earn university credits.​For instance, if you want to get into UBC, a score of 5 on the standardized exam will be recognized. However, if you simply score a 98 in your school's AP course, UBC will not recognize it.If you do not take the AP course at school and instead take the exam independently outside, achieving a score of 5 means UBC will directly count your grade for that subject as 96%.Therefore, just proceed with the exams normally and do not worry about any alarmist rumors.
